RANDOPH, NJ- Summer is a great time for kids to enjoy their freedom while exploring new things and expanding the limits of their imagination. Finding a trustworthy, well-run, and affordable summer camp can provide just that - while also giving mom and dad the time they need to work or enjoy their own freedom.

The Summer Horizons Camp at the West Morris Area YMCA on Dover Chester Road in Randolph, every summer day, is a new adventure where kids will make new friends and great summer memories.

The kids all get so excited for the field trip days,” said Camp Director Jennifer Patrick, when asked what the kids love most about the Y-camp.  “Seeing their camp friends and counselors every morning, the on-site programming specialists, learning about our' garden, and taking part in the fitness classes are also highlights that bring lots of smiles to our campers faces.”

The camp is open to kids from ages 2&1/2 (fully potty-trained) up to 7th grade.  Weekly sessions are offered starting as early as June 17 (for the local schools who are already done by that time) and run almost all summer long, ending on Friday, August 16.

Swim lessons, weekly field trips (for 1st – 7th graders), an on-site gardening program, and a camp family carnival night are all included in camp tuition.

All field trips are age appropriate,” said Patrick.  “To name a few, The Crayola Experience, The Funplex/Splashplex, Dorney Park, and Liberty Science Center are some of the bigger ones.”

Feedback from parents has been overwhelmingly positive, with some sending along words of praise after last summer had concluded.

"The number of activities and the amount of swimming time my kids get makes this camp worth every penny – I highly recommend it,” commented one parent.  Another stated, “My son had a great summer at the Y-camp last year, he loved all of his counselors and has had fun with every activity.”
