May 14 THE SCOOP ON SODIUM. Understanding why excess sodium in our diets is detrimental, how much sodium we need and how much is too much, along with tips for lowering sodium intake. 
June 11 BETTER BBQ FOR A HEALTHY SUMMER. June starts the season of grilling and summer picnics. This seminar includes great recipes to plan a healthful and tasty outdoor party! Learn how to keep foods safe and make smarter choices for summer meals. Test your BBQ IQ with a fun trivia game.
July 9 DIABETES PREVENTION, AWARENESS & CARE. Take the pre-diabetes screening test to assess your risk. Understand how nutrition impacts glucose tolerance, the effect of diabetes on health, and how lifestyle changes impact control of this disease. Diabetec-friendly meal planning can include delicious foods that everyone can enjoy!
August 13 FAT FACTS. How much fat do we require in our diets? How do we know if we are consuming too much? What fats are healthier and which should be avoided?
September 10 GAME ON! TEST YOUR KNOWLEDGE & LEARN. What's your nutrition IQ? This seminar will allow you to assess your nutrition know-how and will provide you with easy ways to improve your diet. This interactive seminar is a fun way to "get in the know" about the latest nutrition news, trending food products & more! Prizes will be awarded to top winner. Come & join the fun!
October 8 PINK RIBBON SEMINAR. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We will cover the important role lifestyle plays in breast health. Dietary strategies will cover antioxidants, phyto-chemicals, and phyto-estrogens. 
November 12 TASTE OF THANKSGIVING. This month's nutritional lunch series will feature a cooking demonstration. Regina will prepare a healthy Thanksgiving recipe and shares her favorite tips and techniques for cooking healthy meals. The demonstration includes samples of featured dish and recipes to take home. Learn cooking techniques for giving Thanksgiving dishes a healthy makeover!
December 10 HEALTHY HOLIDAYS. Don't let the holidays season de-rail your efforts to stay healthy. Create healthier holiday meals and learn techniques for navigating holiday parties and events. This seminar also covers how to better manage your time and tips for reducing stress.

Parkinson's Support Groups

Our Parkinson's Support Group offers a forum where members can talk, share, and learn from each other. All members of the Parkinson's Community, their loved ones, caregivers & Rock Steady Boxers are welcome! These complimentary support groups are facilitated by Heidi Rinsky-Schnapp, MA, CSW, CWP, a Randolph YMCA volunteer, and co-founder of LMR Elder Care, LLC. All meetings are at the Program House.
