Our Special Needs Programs are designed and led by an experienced team of trained instructors. Head instructor, Brian Cron has over 15 years of experience working with children and adults with special needs. Formerly at Bergen County Special Services, he created a gymnastics program exclusively for special needs. Brian then founded Brian's T.E.A.M, a program with multiple disciplines including gymnastics and private swim lessons. Brian, a former multi-decorated competitive gymnast is lifeguard, CPR, AED & First Aid Certified.

Gymfit classes are structured into small groups with children up to age 13 and utilize underlying principles of Applied Behavior Analysis, to teach the fundamental skills for basic gymnastics. Activities are designed to improve balance, motor planning, upper body strength, stability and most importantly-confidence! All new program participants must be evaluated for proper Gymfit placement. Dolphin Swim classes is a small group environment for children up to age 13 where specially trained instructors will teach the basics of water safety in a fun and nurturing atmosphere. Basic swimming is taught using multiple teaching modalities, including the underlying principles of Applied Behavior to help children generalize these skills. Adult Special Needs
This program will teach participants ages 14+ how to operate fitness equipment. Generalizing these skills to a typical exercise facility is the goal of the program, fitness goals include improving core strength, cardio, and agility all while building self-esteem. For more than 30 years, the YMCA's Special Needs Kaleidoscope Program offers children ages 5-17 the opportunity to become more confident in the water through the teaching of basic swimming skills by trained volunteers. GOTCHA "Get Off The Couch And..."
The Roxbury PEC, Inc., in coordination with the Randolph Y, has started a pilot program for young teens with special needs. It includes social interaction as well as a variety of recreational and fitness activities which will include gymnastics, fitness machines, stretching, music & fun!
