RANDOLPH, NJ-The Randolph YMCA is hosting a free Open House on Sunday, Jan. 31 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at The Program House located on the hill at the Y, 14 Dover Chester Road, Randolph.

The Program House  is a brand new concept developed by the Randolph YMCA to meet community needs without the commitment of a Y membership.

Quality classes and services are offered for all ages and many interests.

The Open House will include healthy snacks, chair massage (first come, first served by sign up), improv theater activities, balance classes and demonstrations of The Playroom, a room dedicated to child-sized gymnastics equipment.

Free raffles for exciting prizes will be held throughout the Open House. Prizes will include a free massage, a free nutrition counseling session, a free class at The Program House, a free gymnastics birthday party for up to 10 children and one free eight-week swim lesson session.

Morristown Medical Center will offer free blood pressure and glucose screenings.

The Program House is designed for the community to explore, connect and move in a variety of rooms.
 

The Rec Room will house birthday parties, ping pong, kids theater classes, and Friday night improv. Fitness in a private setting and on-demand small group fitness classes will provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere for exercise. Special needs fitness classes for ‘tweens, teens and adults will also be held in The Rec Room.,

The Playroom features bright and colorful gymnastics equipment and will include Move with Me Baby/Toddler with an Adult classes and Open Gym time. Special needs gymnastics classes for toddlers and children will  provide a nurturing environment and the necessary modifications for each participant to perform to his/her best ability. Special needs swimming classes are also available in the Y’s warm water pool.

Adult and seniors will use The Living Room to enjoy Health Screenings by Morristown Medical Center, lectures, balance classes, crafting and bingo, as well as community and corporate first aid and CPR classes.

The Den is dedicated to individual attention with massage by a licensed massage therapist, nutrition counseling by a Registered Dietitian, Aquatic Rehab evaluation and video analysis of  pickleball and swim strokes.

Healthy cooking demonstrations and the Y Weight Nutritional Program will be held in The Kitchen.

“The Program House is an innovative approach for the Y to engage the community in healthy lifestyle programs without needing a Y Membership,” said Bill Lamia, Randolph YMCA CEO. Adding, “Randolph YMCA members do receive a reduced participation fee for all Program House offerings.”
