RANDOLPH, NJ- The Randolph YMCA has announced a series of events to benefit its 2nd Annual “Swim for Sally” charity fundraiser to build a new ADA (American with Disabilities Act) Locker Room.

All events are open to the public.

 “Swim for Sally” is an annual swim event held in memory of Sally Schenkman, a long-time Y member who passed away last year. Sally was not only an amazing wife, mother, friend, and award-winning nurse at Morristown Medical Center, she was also an avid swimmer who worked out at the Y daily.

Together with the Schenkman family, the Randolph YMCA is raising money to build the Sally Schenkman ADA Accessible Locker Room in her memory. The locker room is part of the Y’s “Building What Matters” Capital Campaign.

Fundraising events to benefit “Swim for Sally” begin on October 2, 2018 with local restaurants donating a portion of their proceeds for a day at “Dine Out for Sally.”

Participating restaurants include: The Corner Bistro on October 2, Anthony and Sons on October 7, La Strada on October 10, Mr. Crabby’s Seafood House and Sports Bar on October 11, Casa de Pasta on October 16, Randolph Diner on October 18 and Redwoods Grill & Bar on October 24.

“Spin for Sally,” an indoor cycling fundraiser, will be held on Saturday, October 13 at the Y. Bikes can be reserved at the Front Desk of the Y with a $20 donation. Indoor cycling times are 7:15am-8:15am; 8:30am-9:30am and 9:45am-10:45am.
 

 “Sweat for Sally”, a 90-minute workout, will be held at the Randolph YMCA on Saturday, October 20, from 8:00am to 9:30am. A $20 donation per person will be collected at the door; pre-registration is not required.

“Aqua Fitness for Sally”, a 90- minute aquatic workout will be held at the Randolph YMCA in their Warm Water Pool from 3 pm to 4:30 pm. This is a sampling of our aquatic fitness classes. A $20 donation per person will be collected at the door; pre-registration is not required.

“Swim for Sally,” will be held on Saturday, October 20th at 3:00 pm, with individual swimmers and teams swimming to raise funds for the Sally Schenkman ADA Accessible Locker Room. A $20 donation per person will be collected at the door; pre-registration is not required.

“Swim for Sally” culminates with a live performance by Brendan Fletcher at 7:00pm at the Y. Brendan, who appeared on NBC’s “The Voice,” is donating his time and talent for the 2nd year in a row. Tickets for the evening performance are $20 and available on Eventbrite.com. Dinner and refreshments will be served donated by local restaurants.
